Each record shows quite a bit of detail. You get the full name, housing agency, arrest date, incarceration date, scheduled release date, Jacket ID, booking number, charges with severity levels, and bail amounts. Minnesota Public Data Laws and Anoka County Jail Records

Minnesota is a relatively open state when it comes to jail records. The Government Data Practices Act creates a strong default toward public access. Booking photos, arrest dates, charges, and inmate rosters are all considered public data under Minnesota Statute 13.82. This is why Anoka County can publish its inmate locator online and why you have the right to request booking photos directly.

The jail's records are also tied to the sheriff's statutory obligations. Minnesota Statute 641.05 requires sheriffs to maintain a jail register for everyone in custody. That register is a public record. Minnesota Statute 641.08 defines what the public can access from that register. Anoka County follows both statutes.

For sentenced offenders who have moved to state prison, correctional data rules under Minnesota Statute 13.85 may apply. Those records are handled by the Minnesota DOC Offender Locator. For court records tied to cases in Anoka County, use the Minnesota Trial Court Public Access system. Criminal history background checks cost $8 and go through the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at chs.state.mn.us.

Note: All persons listed in the Anoka County jail system are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
